WHAT IS NCCN?

NCCN is short for the Northwest Challenge Course Network. We're an informal collection of people who are somehow involved with Challenge Courses in the Northwestern region of the country. Our membership is comprised of individuals in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, British Columbia and maybe even Montana. Our members are challenge course managers, facilitators, builders, consultants, students, therapists, trainers, non-profit agencies, and more.

We believe that good learning happens when we spend time together. Each year we gather somewhere in the Northwest for a long weekend of sharing, learning, laughing, and growing the weekend before Thanksgiving. We keep the costs low, the involvement and fun high. Much of our gathering is focused around the idea of "virtual space," where we share what we need and what we have to share and create our conference workshops from there. Suprisingly for a bunch of facilitators it works pretty well.

All this is organized by a volunteer committee, elected by the membership, to serve in various capacities. If you come to a conference, or have ever come to a conference, your a member, a part of the NCCN family.

You can stay in touch with me, the conference coordinator, through e-mail at nccnconference@gmail.com Let me know what you want to see more of, less of, or not at all. I will strive to update this space twice monthly to share whatever it is you want shared.

I look forward to our next gathering, and in the meantime lets use this space as a way to stay connected and keep the learning going.

Sincerely,
Nathan Pfefferkorn
NCCN Conference Coordinator
